With an academic background in Industrial Engineering and nearly a decade of experience as a Manufacturing SAP Consultant, Teresa brings a powerful blend of industrial expertise and digital strategy. By leveraging integrated data ecosystems Teresa helps drive performance, innovation, and sustainability across the organization. 

What was a key moment that changed your career path in tech—and why?
Right after graduating as an Industrial Engineer—which included an incredible year studying at the Illinois Institute of Technology—I was so excited to join a global company like Holcim. For me, it was the perfect chance to finally bring together my industrial background with my passion for technology.

Your role today—and why does it matter?
After almost 10 years working as a Manufacturing SAP Consultant, I recently transitioned into the role of Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) Consultant where I focus on linking organization's high-level business strategy directly to its financial and operational execution. I took this step because I wanted to expand my knowledge, keep growing professionally, and dive into parts of the business that I hadn't had the chance to touch before.

Which tech trend excites you the most, and what risks do we need to address?
The trend that excites me the most is the convergence of Data and Enterprise Performance Management platforms. Coming from a manufacturing and SAP background, I love seeing how connecting Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), production, and finance into a single, real-time data ecosystem completely transforms decision-making.

What is still holding women back in tech leadership—and what actually helps move the needle?
The truth is, in the industrial and construction business, women are still a minority—even though we are seeing more and more of us every day, which makes me incredibly proud. But to build a truly innovative and sustainable future, women need to have a stronger voice and greater representation in these sectors, ensuring that the industries shaping our world benefit from diverse perspectives.

What responsibility do tech leaders have today towards people, society, and sustainability?
I believe tech leaders have three main responsibilities today:

• Towards people: They must ensure technology empowers teams and supports human-centric growth.

• Towards society: We need to close the diversity gap by actively bringing more women into the industrial and tech sectors.

• Towards sustainability: Leaders must use tech and data to minimize environmental impact and drive the sustainable transition.

What is one truth about working in tech that we don't talk about enough?
True success happens when tech and business work one-on-one, side by side, ensuring that every technological solution directly drives business value and that everyone speaks the same language.
