Business Analytics Manager (Sustainability and Development)

Description 

The Business Analytics Manager (Sustainability and Development) will be responsible for solutioning,
operations support, project delivery and business requirement analysis for Group Data and Analytics
initiatives at Holcim. To be successful in this role, one has to establish and maintain trust-based relationships
with internal customers, understand corporate sustainability and development/CO2 measurement processes,
be passionate about the latest IT technology with strong data and analytics skills, and have effective
communication and negotiation skills.
This role works closely with the Sustainability and Development function, IT partners and vendors from an
infrastructure and application development perspective to ensure the achievement of intended business
results.

Responsibilities

As IT Business Analyst:

  • Be able to translate business needs/pain points into business analytics requirements

    (data platforms or analytics/dashboards)

  • Deep process understanding and passion for sustainability and development analytics

  • Identify business opportunities enabled by data, analytics and data science

  • Hands-on programming experience preferably Python

  • Knowledge on databases and database querying languages such as SQL

  • Exposure to Business intelligence and data warehouse technologies

As IT Service Account Manager:

  • Manage and grow the Sustainability and Development applications portfolio
  • Establish strong internal customer relationships and manage their satisfaction and 

    expectations

  • Manage end-to-end application maintenance, support models and roadmaps aligned together with IT platform service providers and business application owners, according to Service Level Agreements (SLA)

As IT Project and delivery Manager:

  • Determine agile/SCRUM project goals and priorities with product owner / business 

    sponsors

  • Support timely and efficient delivery by using modern project management practice 

    through agile project delivery

  • Ensure quality and security of deliverables, align solution architecture and design with 

    IT strategy and technology roadmap

  • Provide program/project health reviews, and the implementation of corrective actions

  • Manage and communicate a clear vision of the project’s scope and objectives, and 

    motivate the project team to achieve them

  • Other duties as assigned

Profile required

Level of education/qualifications normally required:

  • Bachelor degree or above in Data Science, Business Analytics or Computer Science or equivalent
    discipline with an IT-focused work experience and training
  • Masters degree is a clear advantage

Specific work experience:

  • More than 8 years of progressive experience in business intelligence, analytics or data science with
    strong exposure to sustainable development areas [required]
  • 5 years experience in project management and project estimation/proposal development [required]
  • Experience working and managing offshore teams or vendors [required]
  • Knowledge of Construction & Building Materials industry is a plus [preferred]

Technical/functional skills:

  • Advanced knowledge on business intelligence, visualization, analytics and data science tools (ex.
    QlikView, QlikSense, AWS Analytics, Google Cloud Analytics, SAP BI, Google Data Studio)
    [required]
  • Advanced knowledge in database technologies (AWS S3, Redshift, SAP BW) [preferred]
  • Solid knowledge in Sustainability and Development/CO2 measurement [preferred]
  • Strong experience in IT solutioning and delivery using latest IT technologies and development
    models especially in the field of data and analytics
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (ie. SCRUM, PMI, Agile, etc) [required]

Language skills:

  • Excellent English (written & spoken), German and French are a plus
